Examples Using Bolt! On Image Surfer Pro Forms

Image Surfer Pro Forms are only created by the BAM! button on Image Surfer Pro toolbar button. There are several good examples of what generated forms look like in the Using BAM! On Popular Webpages page in this user's manual. On this page we will explore the various options for processing the forms after they are generated.

In these examples, the image on the right will link directly to the webpage used as the starting point. The other images will each link to full size images. This allows you to follow along by setting your configuration, going to the website and performing the actions - thus duplicating the results.

Configuration #1
Image Surfer Pro configuration dialog with selected inputs enabled
Description
Our first page to be processed is a thumbnail post from Ace-Clipart.com Which was also used in the Using Bolt! On Thumbnail Posts examples. In the user configuration we have enabled the following fields:
  • Auto select URL links to images in forms
  • Auto add individual images to lists
The only two actions taken are to first process the original page with BAM! button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar and then immediately process the generated form with Bolt button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar
Before
Original webpage: Ace-Clipart.com

Intermediate Image Surfer Pro Form webpage
After Resulting view of fusker collection view and IE dispaly window
If you have read though the Using Bolt! On Thumbnail Posts examples, the result will look very familiar. In the intermediate Image Surfer Pro Form page you will see that right column links which point to image files (based on their file extensions) have been selected because their check boxes were automatically marked. The most appropriate link is chosen - Clean if it exists is chosen by default, then Sterile, and finally the Original link.

Processing a page this way is exactly like initially processing the page as a thumbnail post with the Bolt button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar button. Thumbnail processing always uses the Clean links and never the original links.

Configuration #2
Image Surfer Pro configuration dialog with selected inputs enabled
Description
This time we will process the exact same thumbnail post with just one change to the configuration. This time we will disable Auto select URL links to images in forms and instead enable Auto select image files in forms.

The only two actions taken are to first process the original page with BAM! button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar and then immediately process the generated form with Bolt button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar
Before
Original webpage: Ace-Clipart.com

After Resulting view of the fusker collection view and IE dispaly window
In the intermediate step you will notice the check box for every image extracted from the original webpage has been checked. So the resulting updates to the fusker collection should not be unexpected. The resulting fusker collection tree has two branches with image files under both. The "gfx" directory holds the graphics used by the website to form the top border and some advertizing icon type images. The "photos/laholla" has the thumbnail images we saw on the first page.

For clarity the resulting page shown here is the expanded view of the entire fusker collection.
