User Preferences
The Image Surfer Pro User Preferences window allows you to customize the Preferences of Image Surfer Pro to your surfing style, the capabilities of your computer and Internet connection, as well as the type of image content in your fusker collection. Your preferences are persisted through the Windows registry and will immediately be applied to each active Image Surfer Pro window.
4 Tabs
The User Preferences window has four pages of configurations which are accessed
via the tab control at the top of the window. General configurations allow you to
personalize the directories used and whether or not Image Surfer Pro will check for
new releases automatically. Processing configurations control how Image Surfer pro
processes webpages with the
button. The configurations on the Forms tab control which selections are made
automatically when an ISP Form is created with the
button. The Views tab contains configurations for customizing how the temporary
webpages created to view your fusker collection are created.

Preference Reference
The following table provides a brief summary of each user Preferences as well as references to the pages and examples which reference the configuraiton. For more detailed information click on the section of the User Preferences dialog shown above which contains the Preferences you are interested in. Preferencess are listed by form and group.

| Check For Updates Daily |
When enabled Image Surfer Pro will contact www.ImageSurferPro.com once each day it is used to
determine if a newer version of the software exists. This does not cause your browser display to
navigate or change in anyway, the connection is made silently. If Image Surfer Pro determines there is either a newer Free or Registered version of the software available from www.ImageSurferPro.com then the Upgrade dialog will be displayed. The date of the last time a check was made either manually or automatically is displayed here. |

| Auto range when adding to the collection |
Auto creates numeric fusked files when adding individual image files to
your fusker collection with either the
button or the URL Capture Bar. You may override this configuration using the
Auto Range Override.

| Size of Range | Used when {Auto range when adding to collection} is enabled and a new file is added to the fusker collection which has a number in the file name. Also used when Auto Ranging any fusker selection. Determines number of items referenced in the fusk. | ||
| Always start with image number | Determines the start value of the numeric fusk when either adding a file or Auto Ranging a fusker collection selection. Mutually exclusive with {Search above and below added image}. Enter the desired value in the text box. | ||

| Auto combine individual files into fusked files |
If an individual file is added to a directory which contains another file, the files
will be joined into a fusked file segment. The form of the fusk will be
Optimized and may be either a list
or numeric fusk. This happens when adding URL references to the fusker collection
via the
button, URL Capture Bar, or file merge.

| Min image file size in Kbytes for auto collection add | When a Directed Search can not find any direct image links down a search path it will consider images it finds embedded in the pages searched. This is done because some FHGs link to Image Pages and not directly to images. This configuration determines the minimum number of bytes contained in the image information before images found this way are added to the fusker collection. | ||
| Page time out in seconds | A Directed Search is performed by navigating to each page in the search list then processing each page. The time it takes to navigate to a page is dependent upon the internet connection speed, page size, and the capability of the hosting server and user computer. This configuration allows you to customize the amount of time Image Surfer Pro will wait for Internet Explorer to complete the navigation before prompting you whether or not to continue waiting. | ||

| Number of Images: Basic / Guide | If {Limit the number of images per page} is enabled, the number of images placed on any single top level Guide page or a Basic viewing page will be limited to this number. This value should be set based upon the amount of system memory, the type of operating system, and the size of the 1st image in each pictorial of your fusker collection. | ||
| Number of Images: Expanded / Detail | If {Limit the number of images per page} is enabled, the number of images placed on any single Expanded or Guide Detail viewing page will be limited to this value.
