Image Surfer Pro Toolbar

The BAM! Button

This button can be used in several ways and is integral to getting accurate and safe links to the images you want to collect. The central functionality of this button is to pull out image references from the current webpage along with relevent destination information if the image is a clickable link. The information is shown in a table in a generated webpage.

BAM! functions differently between the Free and Registered versions of Image Surfer Pro.

Registered Version

The Registered version of Image Surfer Pro is more powerful and the BAM! button generates a form rather than just a static page. The generated form is a two column table. Each column contains information from the original page displayed when BAM! button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar was clicked along with a check boxes to select the information you wish to add to your fusker collection.

To process the form and add the selected information to your fusker collection click the Bolt button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar button on the Image Surfer Pro toolbar.

The first column of the table shows the exact image found on the original page. The image is coded as a direct link to the image file. Next to the image is an "Add Image" checkbox. When the form is processed with the Bolt button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar button each image where the Add Image box is checked will be added to the fusker collection.

The second column will contain URL information if the image on the original page was a link to another webpage or image. The URL extracted is not the exact link referenced in the original page. It is an attempt to remove some scripting, pop-up windows/tabs, and possibly harmful redirection. It is possible the URL created is not a valid link or may not take you to the desired location. The more complicated the original URL the more likely that Image Surfer Pro will not be able to pull out the desired location - but also more likely that the original URL was not a "desired" location either. The URL generated is the most likely URL to take you to your desired location within the same browsing window and can be used to continue surfing within the same browsing window for your desired content with a clearer understanding of where it will take you.

In the case of a thumbnail post, a small image on the first page often links directly to a larger version of the same image - in which case it may be desirable to add the original link rather than the original image. When the form is processed with the Bolt button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar button each Original URL where the Add URL box is checked will be added to the fusker collection.

Using the Settings button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar button on the Image Surfer Pro tool bar, you can configure Image Surfer Pro to automatically check all of the "Add Image" boxes or all "Add URL" boxes where the URL is a direct image link .

Free Version

The table generated by the Free version of Image Surfer Pro will only access the first 20 images found in the original webpage and will contain only the images and Original URLs and not the selection check boxes. These pages can not be processed by the Bolt button from Image Surfer Pro toolbar button as those generated by the Registered version can.
