Optimization is a process of condensing the fusker collection into an organization which requires the least memory and disk space to store the information in the fusker collection.
Currently the Optimize menu option considers only one aspect of the fusker collection organization. It looks for fusked list segments where the list entries are all sequential numeric values. If a list is found which matches these criteria, the list fusk is converted to a numeric fusk. This saves memory and disk space because only three numbers need to be stored rather than a number for every list entry.
If any non numeric characters are found in the list entries the conversion is not done - even if the characters are common to all list entries and a numeric fusk was possible. This limitation will be addressed in later releases.
Optimization is performed down each branch of the fusker collection tree from the selected segment.
After searching the fusker collection tree and optimizing any segments found which can be optimized an information window is provided which indicates how much optimization was done if any.
If some optimization was performed a window similar to this will appear:
If no segments could be optimized a window similar to the following will appear:
Simply click OK on any window which appears to continue surfing and building your fusker collection.
The Optimize menu option does not utilize any user preferences.
There are no differences in the Optimize functionality between the Free and Full versions of Image Surfer Pro.
